I first started creating these hand illustrations in 2023 as small warm-up drawings in the morning, before starting my other illustration work. They have now developed into their own ever-growing series.
On a general level, I find hands so fascinating because essentially, everything that surrounds us was built and created by or through hands. And on my own personal level I am intrigued by hands because for me it is how I discover the world. Yes, of course the other senses are vital as well, but I find that I get the most satisfaction when working with my hands. It’s almost as if the knowledge I gain about the workings of the world and about life come through working with my hands – drawing, painting, writing, touching, feeling, contemplating.
